Professional Background

Prior to Sher & Blackwell, Mr. Schwadron served from 1979 to 2006 as congressional chief of staff, legislative director, committee counsel and press secretary. A former newspaper reporter, Schwadron has extensive experience in strategic communications and media relations.

During his congressional tenure, Schwadron worked to enact reforms to streamline the international adoption process, address wrongful execution of innocent death row inmates and create a new national park on the Boston Harbor Islands. He helped garner House passage of legislation to lift American restrictions on travel to Cuba and remains active in US-Cuba relations. One of his final congressional projects was to help broker an agreement that brought 12 million gallons of discounted Venezuelan home heating oil to 50,000 low-income homes in Massachusetts – a model replicated since in dozens of other states.
