Mr. Freeman is a registered lobbyist in
Sher & Blackwell’s Government
Relations Group. He is actively involved in politics and has held
several ranking staff positions with federal legislators. His practice
areas include, but are not limited to technology, homeland security,
procurement, appropriations, competitive sourcing, transportation,
energy, trade and foreign relations.
Professional Background
Prior to working as a lobbyist, Mr. Freeman
most recently served as Deputy Staff Director of the Senate Committee
on Commerce, Science, and Transportation for Senator John McCain.
As the Deputy Staff Director, Mr. Freeman was responsible for overseeing
policy development on all issues before the Committee, including telecommunications,
science and technology, consumer affairs, and transportation. Additionally,
Mr. Freeman advised Senator McCain on homeland security issues, Department
of Defense matters, and trade.
In addition, Mr. Freeman served as Administrative
Director for U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield (R-KY) where he oversaw
the Congressman’s staff and worked on wide range of issues.
Mr. Freeman also managed a number of the Congressman’s successful
campaigns.
A former military officer, Mr. Freeman is a graduate of the University
of Kentucky in Lexington where he earned a degree in Industrial Administration
and a commission in the U.S. Army. During his service, Mr. Freeman
received numerous awards and citations for distinguished service in
positions around the world, including Desert Storm.

Mr. Freeman is currently a resident of Washington, DC.
